Working to make NY a healthier place to live, work and play!

Tobacco Free Pharmacies

Reducing the number of stores that sell tobacco makes prevention and cessation efforts more effective by decreasing social acceptability and changing the norm. Community Partnerships are working with pharmacies and grocery stores to stop selling tobacco products.

Prescription for Change

Currently 52% of all pharmacies in New York still sell tobacco products. Tobacco sales in pharmacies raises ethical questions since tobacco is the only consumer product that, when used as intended, will kill at least one half of its long term users. It is time to end tobacco sales at pharmacies in New York State. Learn more about the facts below and contact your local Community Partnership to lend your support.

Tobacco Free Grocery Stores

Some supermarkets are no longer selling tobacco products because they realize that tobacco sales don't support the health of their community. Join us in asking all grocery stores to stop selling tobacco products by sending an e-mail to your local supermarket at www.TobaccoFreeGrocery.org
